PURPOSE:To enable to make high intensity and high output, by arraying a plural of column members with fusiform cross sectional shape on at least one position between the inner wall of the outrise tube and the outer wall of the inside tube, with the column members being vertical to the axes of the inside and outside tubes and with the major axes of the fusiform cross sections being parallel to the tube axes. CONSTITUTION:Boro-silicate glass is cut to manufacture an outside tube also serving as a portion of the enclosure of a gas laser tube, and one of the glass cut faces is somewhat enlarged. Next, boro-silicate glass for forming a discharge tube is cut, and both the ends are heated by flame of a gas burner to be en larged into a flange shape. On any position of the glass tube, four glass column members 2 with fusiform cross section made of boro-silicate glass are arrayed, with them being vertical to the axes of the tubes and with the major axes of the fusiform cross sections being parallel to the tube axes, and they are melted and fixed by use of a gas burner to finish an inside tube 3 with fusiform glass rods. Next, thin inside tube 3 is combined with the preliminarily manufac tured outside tube 1. In this way, a high-output gas laser tube having high precision and high reliability can be provided. |
