PURPOSE:To make each gap slide and contact to a recording medium with a good touch by packing a covering thin film whose hardness is lower than that of a magnetic core, and also whose influence is not exerted substantially on the magnetic characteristic, in a gap depth direction from the slide surface, with a narrower width than an adjacent gap interval between the adjacent gaps. CONSTITUTION:First of all, amorphous magnetic alloy is stuck onto a glass substrate 1 on which a through-hole 8 is pierced in advanced, and a center magnetic core 3 and a part to which a covering thin film 5 is to be stuck are removed by means of ion milling, by which side magnetic cores 2, 2 are formed. An end face 2a is formed in an shape as shown in figure so as to have a prescribed angle alpha against a perpendicular X of the glass substrate 1. Subsequently, between the side magnetic cores 2, 2, the covering the film 5 is stuck in a wedge shape inserted in the gap length direction. As for this covering thin film 5, a material whose hardness is lower than that of the side magnetic core 2 and the center magnetic core 3, and also whose influence is not exerted substantially on the magnetic characteristic is selected. The center core 3 is formed, a protective layer 6 is formed on said core, and thereafter, the through-hole 8 of a desired shape is formed by removing the amorphous magnetic alloy film, the gap forming surface is polished in a shape of an arc, and in the end, a coil 7 is wound round.
