PURPOSE:To perform the sure turning of a billet without forming a flaw with a simple and small installing areal device by turning the transferred billet at proper angle by clamping with floating from the transfer roller table and by making floatable and turnable by a support roller as well. CONSTITUTION:A billet 5 is transferred in by a transfer roller table 5 bridging on a turner 2 and support roll 3. The billet 15 is pinched by the clamping claw by floating from the table 5 with the ascent of the slide 16 by the cylinder 25 of the turning table 9 of the turner 2, the clamping claw 26 and guide plate 27 and with the ascent of the slide 17 by linking mechanisms 21, 22, 23, the clamping claw 26 and guide plate 27. The billet 15 is turned by the proper angle with turning of the turning table 9 by a motor 12. On the other hand, the bearing 33 of the support roll 3 is ascended by the cylinder 34, floating the billet 15 and making it freely turnable. The billet 15 is surely turned without any flaw by the simple and small installing areal device.
