PURPOSE:To enable a compressor, when it is started with a coolant asleep, t relax abnormal high pressure acting in a delivery piping system, by vertically fixing a delivery muffler to a compressor shell while inserting an inlet pipe of the delivery muffler to its internal central part. CONSTITUTION:This scroll compressor, vertically fixing a delivery muffler 22 outside a compressor shell 10, inserts an inlet pipe 23 of the delivery muffler 22 to its internal central part from the upper part of said compressor shell 10. Consequently, when the compressor is started with a coolant asleep, the compressor, damping abnormal high pressure due to compression of fluid because space is generated in an upper part of the delivery muffler inlet pipe 23, prevents a break trouble in a delivery piping system.
