PURPOSE:To suppress electrochemical creapage and increase leakage resistance by performing an assembling process accommodating a positive element, a negative element, and electrolyte in a battery container and sealing them in an atmosphere of inert gas. CONSTITUTION:A positive element 11 containing a positive active materials such as MnO2 or Ag2O is accommodated in a positive case 12 also serving as a positive terminal. A barrier 13 such as polyethylene film and an electrolyte absorbing material 14 are placed on the positive element 11, and a negative element 15 containing a negative active material such as zinc is filled in a negative sealing plate 16 also serving as a negative terminal, and the negative sealing plate is inserted into the opening of the positive case 12 with an insulating gasket 17 interposed between them, and the opening of the positive case 12 is bent to seal a battery. The whole assembly process of the battery is performed in an atmosphere of dried inert gas such as nitrogen, helium, or argon to prevent sealing of oxygen gas. By this process, electrochemical creapage is suppresed and leakage resistance is increased. |
