PURPOSE:To accelerate the slagging of a slag forming material and to enhance the dephosphorizing and desulfurizing effects when molten pig iron is simultaneously dephosphorized and desulfurized with the slag forming material contg. CaO and CaF2 as the principal components, by adding a prescribed amount of NaCl to the slag forming material. CONSTITUTION:Molten pig iron 2 tapped off a blast furnace is received in a blast furnace pan 1, and a slag forming material 3 contg. CaO and CaF2 as the principal components is put on the molten pig iron 2. At this time, NaCl is added to the slag forming material 3 by about 0.5-1.0kg per 1 ton iron so as to lower the m.p. of the material 3 and to accelerate the slagging. CaO powder 5 is then blown into the molten pig iron 2 from the 1st lance 4 with gaseous N2, and gaseous O2 is blown on the surface of the molten pig iron 2 from the 2nd lance 6. Thus, the rates of dephosphorization and desulfurization of the molten pig iron 2 are increased. |
