摘要 |
PURPOSE:To detect the damage of a stave directly and exactly by bringing an ultrasonic probe into contact with the outside surface of a part where the constituting member of the stave is packed so as to have no cavities and measuring the thickness of the stave. CONSTITUTION:A stave body 6 cast therein with a cooling pipe 4 is provided so as to inscribe a shell 2. The pipe 4 is sealed by a sealing metal 8. An aperture 12 is provided to the shell 2 on the outside in the part where the constituting member is packed to have no cavities and where the pipe 4 is not included with respect to the thickness direction of the body 6 from the furnace core toward the outside. The ultrasonic probe 12 for measuring thickness is brought into contact with the stave body 6 through such aperture 12 and the aperture 10 is sealed by an opening/closing mechanism 14. A probe lead wire 16 is led to the outside from the mechanism 14. The thickness of the stave 6 is easily detected by the probe 12 and since the initial thickness of the stave 6 is known, the erosion condition of the stave 6 is easily known. |
