PURPOSE:To make possible the shaping of the light from a spot light source to a free shape with good efficiency by converging said light by many optical fibers arranged circumferentially. CONSTITUTION:The light from a light emitting point 7 of an Xe-Hg lamp consisting of electrodes 1, 2, a reflection-coated quartz bulb 3, a window part 4 and tungsten electrodes 5, 6 is released from the window 4 and is captured by optical fibers 8 disposed around the window 4. The light passes through an optical fiber bundle 9 bundle with the fibers 8 and is reflected as a square light source from the end 10 of the optical fiber bundle shaped sectionally to a free shape, a square shape in this embodiment. The light from the spot light source is converged by the many optical fibers arranged circumferentially and is shaped to the square or linear shape, etc., by which the efficient capturing of the emitted light and the shaping of the light source to the free shape are made possible. |
