PURPOSE:To facilitate maintenance of plural sets of oil rotary vacuum pumps, by a method wherein a pair of pumps connected in series and an independent pump having a suction port are disposed on a common shaft and can be contained in a casing. CONSTITUTION:A pair of pump bodies 3 and 4, coupled in series to a first suction port 13, an independent pump body 19, communicated with a second suction port 26, are disposed in a casing 2, and the pump bodies 3, 4, and 19 are immersed in sealed oil 1. The pump bodies 3, 4 and 19 placed on a common input shaft 29, and the first and second suction ports 13 and 26 are connected to a different vacuum exhaust system. This enables provision of an oil rotary vacuum pump, operation of which the same maintenance as that of a single pump will suffice for, although it has function equivalent to that of plural sets of the pumps.
