PURPOSE:To obtain a stable, nontoxic reversible heat-sensitive material which exhibits a reversible change in color tint accompanying a change in temp., by mixing a polycrystalline powder obtd. by calcining a mixture of NiO and MoO3 with a polycrystalline powder obtd. by calcining a mixture of NiO and WO3. CONSTITUTION:An NiO-MoO3 oxide polycrystalline powder obtd. by calcining a mixture of 20-6mol% NiO with 80-33mol% MoO3 is mixed with an NiO-WO3 oxide polycrystalline powder obtd. by calcining a mixture of 10-6mol% NiO with 90-33mol% WO3 to obtain an intended reversible heat- sensitive material. The NiO-MoO3 polycrystalline powder of the reversible heat-sensitive material reversibly changes from a yellowish green tone to a yellow tone at 150-170 deg.C, and the NiO-WO3 polycrystalline powder reversibly changes from a yellow tone to orange tone at about 160-190 deg.C. The title material is excellent in heat resistance and is suited for use in temp. displays for cooking appliances etc.
