A sleeve for the ductor roll of the dampening train of a lithographic printing machine is formed as a sleeve of fibrous non-woven material, at least one component thereof being acrylic fibres which have had part of their material hydrolysed. Preferably the acrylic fibres have been hydrolysed in such manner as to provide a sheath of hydrolysed material and a core of unhydrolysed material.
