PURPOSE:To make it possible to prevent the outflow of ink during the transport of a printer by quick operation and to perfectly eliminate the forgetting of the opening of an ink flow passage at the time of arrangement, by closing the outflow port of the ink flow passage by a valve body in connection with the shielding operation of the jet orifice provided to the front surface of a nozzle by the revolution of a cap. CONSTITUTION:In an ink supply apparatus wherein the ink 6 sent from an ink tank 3 through an ink flow passage 7 is supplied to a nozzle 5 under atmospheric pressure by utilizing a capillary phenomena, an ink gate body 6 having a valve body 14 fixed to the lower end thereof and energized to the direction bringing the valve body 14 to an open state at the upper part thereof by an elastomer 15 is provided and an operation lever 17 contacted with the upper part of the ink gate body 16 to press the same is provided to the upper end part of a cap 9. When a printer is moved or transported, the cap 9 is revolved to be pressed to the front surface of the nozzle 5 and the operation lever 17 is contacted with the upper end edge part of the ink gate body 16 to press the same and, therefore, the ink gate body 16 is revolved and erected to close an outflow port 4 by the valve body 14. |
