PURPOSE:To make effective use of the sensible heat of a converter waste gas by installing a fluidized bed reactor to a converter waste gas line, sucking the converter waste gas therein and introducing a reducing gas of high temp. under a negative pressure into the reactor. CONSTITUTION:The fluidized bed preliminary reduction reactor 2 is installed to the waste gas line 6 of a converter 1. A suction device 4 is provided via a cooling dust remover 3 to an outlet gas line 7 of the reactor 2. The gas generated in the converter is so sucked, by using the device 4, that the fluidized bed is kept under the negative pressure, then such gas is introduced into the reactor 2. The powdery ore in the reactor 2 is fluidized by the gas introduced therein and is thus subjected to the preliminary reduction. The substantial utilization of the sensible heat and reduction potential of the converter waste gas is made possible by the above-mentioned method, by which the operation time and heat consumption of the converter 1 are reduced. |
