PURPOSE:To attain to enhance erasing quality by performing erasion in a state accurately matched with a printing point, by controlling the title typewriter so as to perform erasion in such a state that a carriage is relocated after an erasing ribbon has been located. CONSTITUTION:When a user is aware of a character typed by mistake, the user pushes the backspace key provided to an input means 1 to move a carriage to the left and locates said carriage 4 at the position of the character to be erased. When the user succeedingly pushes an erasing key, the key code corresponding to the erasing key is sent to a control means 2 from the input means 1. At first, a control means 2 indicates a carriage-driving motor 3a to allow the carriage 4 to move to the left by 12 pulses, that is, by one character and subsequently moves the same to the right by 12 pulses. By this method, the effect of the play or backlash of the mechanism is removed. Next, the control means passes a current to a plunger 10a for a definite time and impacts a hammer 11 onto the character to be erased on paper 19 through the type on a printing wheel 13 and an erasing ribbon 9. By this method, the ink of the character typed by a mistake is peeled off from the paper 19 to complete erasion. |
