The subject of the present invention is a process for treating a composition comprising an organic nitrogen-containing matter and inorganic salts in solution, at least a portion being potassium salts, consisting of adding an acid whose potassium salt has a low solubility in water, the said process being characterised in that: a. The composition is subsequently neutralised using ammonia, ammonium hydroxide or an organic amino base; b. The insoluble potassium salts are separated from the solution containing the nitrogen-containing products; and in that before the separation stage b, the composition is optionally concentrated so that it contains not less than 50% of dry matter by weight. |
