PURPOSE:To make a safe and easy tool change performable, by indexing a disc-type magazine where plural pieces of a cartridge housing plural tool sockets are set up radially, to an indexing position, and making a tool transferrable to a spindle together with the socket. CONSTITUTION:A socket gripper device 105 holds the tool socket 57 indexed to a tool delivery position 91, making it separate from an opening 40 of a cartridge 39 according to rotation of a swing arm 103, and transfers it to a tool changing position 93. And, a tool change takes place with a tool changing arm between a setting tool of the socket 57 and a used tool 17 of the spindle 15. When the used tool 17 is inset in the socket 57 and put back, the gripper device 105 returns to the delivery position 91 again from the changing position 93 by rotation of the swing arm 103. Hereupon, the socket 57 brought back is attached to and housed in an empty position of the cartridge 39 indexed to the delivery position 91 together with the used tool via the opening 40. Thus, at the delivery position 91, all motion for inserting or pulling-out into or from the socket 57 are omitted, thus replacement is made so easy. |
