PURPOSE:To enable any trouble to be detected in a simple manner by configurating a device in such a way that the estimated amount of variation in attitude which is computed based on signals from an operating means for a vehicle running control, is compared with the detected amount of variation in ground clearance, and when the compared value is found to exceed the specified one, a ground clearance adjusting system is determined to be out of order. CONSTITUTION:In order to correspond the ground clearance detected by a ground clearance sensor 38, which is provided for each of wheels, with the set ground clearance, a device as referred to the titled allows a controller 54 to adjust the ground clearance in such a way that a levelling valve 24 is controlled so as to allow a fluid pressure from a pump to be fed to or discharged from a cylinder of a shock absorber. In this case, the amount of variation in vehicle attitude is estimated based on signals concerning such items as a vehicle speed, a steering angle, an accelerator opening, and a brake fluid pressure by an attitude variation arithmetic unit 412 in the controller 54. Then the estimated amount of variation in vehicle attitude is compared with the actual amount of variation computed in an arithmetic unit 416 by a comparator section 414. And if the compared value is found to exceed the specified one, a ground clearance adjusting system is determined to be out of order, and then the effect is transmitted to a controller 404. |
