PURPOSE:To prevent the stains in the unexposed part of a photosensitive material in the stage of a continuous process using a stabilizer substitutive for washing by incorporating the brightening agent expressed by the prescribed formula therein and setting the pH in a 5.5-10.0 range. CONSTITUTION:The brightening agent expressed by the general formula is incorporated into the stabilizer substitutive for washing and pH thereof is set in a 5.5-10.5 range in the process using said stabilizer. In the formula, R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 and R6 respectively denote a hydrogen atom, alkyl group or aryl group. R3 and R4 as well as R5 and R6 may form a heterocyclic ring by combining with each other. M denotes a hydrogen atom, alkal metal atom or ammonium group. The effect is more remarkable when this stabilizer contains a polymer or copolymer having a pyrrolidone nucleus or contains an ammonium compd. The generation of the stains in the unexposed part in the stage of the continuous process is thus prevented. |
