The seacoast defence comprises a hollow cylindrical rubber body, fixed by a flange at one end to a quay wall, while at the other it has a further flange accommodating a component subjected to shocks. A rigid annular reinforcement plated is embedded in each of the flanges, while at the bases of the latter are reinforcing ribs. An annular groove (2) is formed at each end of the body, adjacent to the ribs. The distance of the groove from the flange can be between 0.07 and 0.2 times that between the flange themselves.
