To simplify and improve the liquid guidance in a household dishwasher with washing container (1), storage container (2), softening device and level indicator (4), it is proposed that a valve chamber (6) is integrated into the storage container (2) and is connected to the storage container by an inlet (7) and to the ion exchanger (10) and/or the washing container (1) by an outlet (8, 9), and that the shut-off valve (11) is insertable into the valve chamber and seals the latter to the outside. <IMAGE>
