<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a good supercharging effect over a wide operating area by collecting the exhaust passages of two cylinder groups respectively, connecting both manifold passages to each other by a connecting means, and providing an exhaust bypass means which bypasses the turbine of a supercharger, on one of said manifold passages. CONSTITUTION:In a four-cylinder engine E having a turbosupercharger 1, four cylinders #1-#4 are divided into two groups of cylinders with discontinuous firing orders, collecting exhaust passages 8 of the cylinders which belong to each of the groups, per group, to form two exhaust manifold passages 9, 10. The passages 9, 10 are connected to two scrolls 2a, 2b formed in a turbine 2 respectively. Also, the exhaust manifold passages 9, 10 are connected to each other on the upper course side of the turbine 2 by means of a connecting passage 12, and a connecting valve 13 is provided in this connecting passage 12. Further, a waist gate passage 15 which bypasses the turbine 2, is connected to one exhaust manifold passage 10, and a wait gate valve 16 whose working point is on the higher speed side than for the opening timing of the valve 13, is provided in the passage 15.</p> |
