PURPOSE:To obtain a silver halide photosensitive material having superior high contrast and dimensional stability as well as retarded fog density by incorporating a specified compd. and an anionic surface active agent to at least one layer of the silver halide emulsion layer on the base. CONSTITUTION:Latex of a polymer having hydrophilic groups fixed on the surface of the polymer molecule, a tetrazolium compd., and an anionic surface active agent are incorporated to at least one layer of a silver halide emulsion layer in a photographic sensitive material comprising at least one silver halide emulsion layer on a base. Suitable polymer having the hydrophilic groups in one having anionic group or a nonionic group in addition to anionic group in a synthetic water-soluble polymer or natural water-soluble polymer. >=0.05g, pref. >=0.1g such polymer is added to 100g water. Suitable atm. of the anionic surface active agent is pref. 0.5-200mg per 1m<2> photographic sensitive material, and suitable amt. of the tetrazolium compd. to be added is 0.001-1mol per 1mol silver halide. |
