PURPOSE:To purify a mixture containing etherified cyclodextrin in good efficiency by removing an inorganic salt and/or an organic salt as by-products by a simple operation, by electrically dialyzing the mixture. CONSTITUTION:A mixture containing an etherified cyclodextrin obtained by reacting cyclodextrin with an etherifying agent and ionic substances such as inorganic salts and/or organic salts (e.g., sodium sulfate or sodium methyl sulfate) is electrically dialyzed. According to this process, inorganic salts and/or organic salts as by-products can be removed in good efficiency by a simple process, and therefore a highly pure etherified cyclodextrin can be obtained from an impure one. An aqueous etherified cyclodextrin solution obtained by this purification process can be used as such or can be dried into a powder by, for example, freeze drying.
