[Also in Division F4] A device for cooling one member by conducting the heat to a dissipating member, especially for use in lighting fittings with high wattage lamps, consists of a block 12, mounted on a boss 11 carried by a heat dissipating member e.g. a finned casing 1, the block 12 carrying a pivot 19 supporting a pair of jaws 22 connected by a spring producing a snap action both on opening and on closing of the jaws, the jaws having contact projections 25 engaging the pinch seals 15 of an elongated filament lamp 14. Lampholders 17 are mounted adjacent the jaws. In a modification, the pivot 19 is mounted on a metal-cased lampholder secured to the block 11. In a further modification, it is mounted on the end of the lamp housing adjacent to the lamp holder. |
