PURPOSE:To shorten the work time necessary for detecting a work position by performing the position detection on the periphery of a work by using a proximity switch and by making the composition of using two or more detecting bodies for the proximity switch as well. CONSTITUTION:The position detection on the periphery of a work 3 to be irradiated by an electron beam 13 is performed by fitting the detecting bodies 7a, 7b for the proximity switch to the rotary shaft 4 of a work table l and by holding the proximity switch 9 on the bracket 10 of the main body 11. The control device stops the turn of the shaft 4 at the position where the switch 9 confirmed the detecting body 7a again by confirming the detecting body 7b, when the shaft 4 is rotated and controlled by starting the detection from the position where the detecting body 7a passed through the switch 9. The welding is performed by rotating the work 3 more than one rotation with said stop position as the reference point. In this way, the work time necessary for the detection of the work position can be shortened.
