PURPOSE:To relieve the load of a processor by increasing the changing speed of a numeric value as a time keeping key depression elapses. CONSTITUTION:The numeric display device consists of a display device 11, a panel 1 having a keyboard 12, a panel controller 2 and a processor 3 and the numeric display is worked according to the operation of the operator. Moreover, the processor 3 is provided with a repeat counter RC or the like and holds a measured value for a time when a key commanding incrementing or decrementing a numeric value is kept depressed. In designating a desired numeric value during display onto the display device 11 and depressing continuously the incremental or decremental key on the keyboard 12, the repeat mode is informed to the processor 3 together with the key code. While the mode is consecutive, since the count of the repeat counter RC is increased gradually, the change in the numeric value is increased to quicken the changing speed of the numeric value. Thus, the displayed numeric value is changed quickly to an object value.
