If the judgment is Yes, the fuel injection quantity from an injector 3 is set to zero to stop fuel feed. In this case, the fuel cut period is measured. When it is subsequently judged that the fuel resumption condition is resumed, the asynchronous fuel injection quantity is calculated based on the engine rotating speed after the fuel cut is started so as to be augmented in response to the length of this measured fuel cut period, and the injector 3 is driven and controlled according to its calculation result.
