PURPOSE:To increase a turn-down without spoiling combustion property or flame keeping property by a method wherein the diameter of a liquid fuel nozzle, the diameter of a spray medium nozzle and the diameter of a mixing nozzle are determined so as to have specified relations, in an oil burner tip which mixes the liquid fuel with the spray medium to spray the fuel. CONSTITUTION:Liquid fuel and spray medium are introduced into a mixing nozzle through respective nozzles while the relations among the diameter D0 of the liquid fuel nozzle, the diameter Ds of the spray medium nozzle and the diameter Dm of the mixing nozzle are determined so that Ds/Dm=0.7018+ or -10%, D0/Dm=0.6536+ or -10%. The ratio of nozzle holes are designed to be the ratios above described, whereby, a turn-down may be increased to 7:1 while reducing the diameter of the spray medium nozzle in a degree that it does not spoil flame keeping property and combustion property, the variable range of the input heat of a boiler per one burner may be increased and the operational scope of a plant may be enlarged.
