PURPOSE:To attain a variable adjustment only for the hue of a component chrominance signal by performing a vector arithmetic operation which makes rotate only deflection angles on the chromaticity planes of two kinds of chrominance signals. CONSTITUTION:The levels of color difference signals (R-Y) and (B-Y) are attenuated to 2<-0.5> with fixed attenuators 3 and 4 respectively. Respective attenuation ratio for each of variable attenuators 5-8 is meshed with sin(theta+45 deg.) and cos(theta+45 deg.), and is interlocked with each other, A signal R-Y.sintheta is obtained from a mixer 9, and a signal R-Y.costheta from a mixer 10, and a signal (B-Y).sintheta from a mixer 11, and a signal (B-Y).costheta from a mixer 12. A color difference signal (R-Y') for a color, of which the hue is changed at a mixer 13, is obtained and is outputted from a terminal 15, and a signal (B-Y') for the color, of which the hue is changed at a mixer 14, is obtained, and is outputted from a terminal 16.
