PURPOSE:The titled inexpensive composition showing no reduction in physical properties even by exposure to large dosage radiation, having improved processing properties, obtained by blending polyethylene with a compound selected from a specific alkylaryl-mono-phosphite and alkylaryl-bis-phosphite. CONSTITUTION:A polyethylene composition containing 2-20wt% one or more selected from an alkylaryl-mono-phosphite [with the proviso that tris-(2,4,-di-t- butylphenyl)phosphite is removed] shown by formula I (R<1> is 1-18C alkyl; R<2> and R<3> are H or 1-9C alkyl; n is 0, 1 or 2], an alkylaryl-bis-phosphite shown by formula II (R<1>-R<3> are as shown for the formula I; R<4> is >=1C alkylene) and an alkylaryl-bis-phosphite shown by formula III (R<1>-R<4> are as shown for the formulas I and II). A polyethylene containing a chemically crosslinking agent is used.
