PURPOSE:To improve the mixing dispersibility to sludge, by adding coal ash or coal ash and coal to sludge in an amount of 10-30% by wt. of the ash amount of sludge as a coal ash conversion value. CONSTITUTION:When dehydrated sludge after drying is injected in an incinerating melting furnace to be burnt and ash is melted, coal ash is added to the sludge in a fly ash state in an amount of 10-30% by wt. of the ash content of sludge. The sludge is incinerated and melted by the combustion of the sludge itself and that of kerosene and auxiliary fuel but coal ash acts as a m.p. falling agent. The melting temp. of the sludge can be lowered by about 70-100 deg.C and the auxiliary fuel can be reduced by about 30-40%. Further, the durability of a furnace is enhanced and the operation thereof becomes easy.
