NEW MATERIAL:A cyano-imidazole compound expressed by formula I (R2 is H, methyl, ethyl, undecyl, heptadecyl or phenyl; R4 is H or methyl). EXAMPLE:2-Methyl-4-cyanoimidazole. USE:An intermediate for various imidazole compounds having important meaning in the field of biochemistry or medicines. PREPARATION:An imidazole-aldoxime compound expressed by formula II and acetic anhydride are heated to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I. The compound expressed by formula II is obtained by reacting an imidazoledithiocarboxylic acid compound prepared from imidazole and carbon disulfide with hydroxylamine hydrochloride in the presence of sodium acetate and acetic acid.
