<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the tilted composition which will enable normal writing, printing, and recording without causing clogging even after being left to stand for a long time, by mixing a specified Color Index dye, a polyhydric alcohol, water, and a pH adjustor comprising LiOH and/or a quaternary ammonium hydroxide. CONSTITUTION:C.I. Direct Black 154 of formula I is dissolved in water, to which an acid such as hydrochloric, sulfuric or acetic acid is added to give a dye wherein at least 30% sulfo groups contained therein are in free form. 1.5-5.0% of this dye and at least 10% polyhydric alcohol, such as diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol or glycerin, are added to water, into which LiOH and/or a quaternary ammonium hydroxide of formula II [wherein R1-4 are each (substituted) alkyl] is incorporated in an amount sufficient to provide a pH of the ink composition of 8.0-13.5.</p> |
