PURPOSE:To improve the suction efficiency, by a method wherein driving of a displacement type compressor forming a supercharger is tuned with the number of revolutions of an engine through a timing regulating mechanism, and the pulsating flows of the driving and the number of revolutions are tuned to offset each other. CONSTITUTION:A supercharger is formed with a displacement type compressor 4, feeding air from an intake air port 1 through an intake air passage 2 to an engine 3. In this case, timing pulleys 13 and 14 are mounted on a driving shaft 13 of the engine 3 and a driven shaft 14 of a screw compressor 4, respectively, serving as the displacement type compressor, and the pulleys are interlocked and coupled with each other through a timing belt 15. A roller 16 for control, changing the position of the timing belt 15 and the rotation phase of the compressor 4, is provided to form a timing regulating mechanism. This constitution tunes a pulsating flow, generated from the compressor 4, and the intake air pulsating flow of the engine 3 with each other so as to erase each other, and improves the suction efficiency.
