According to a method for securing a room against the intrusion and escape of violent criminals, especially the public counter-service room of banks, jewellers or the like and the cockpit of aircraft, the counter-service room and cockpit can be entered only through an anteroom. The anteroom has an outer door or a door to the passenger space, an intermediate door is arranged between the counter-service room or cockpit and the anteroom, the anteroom can be observed from the counter-service room or cockpit, and the outer door and intermediate door can be locked simultaneously or successively from a control point.
