Timber framework for buildings consisting of beams and columns, characterised by prefabricated basic elements each consisting of two or more pieces assembled together by double lap joints and/or adhesive bonding, in order to give them a profile which allows them to be assembled in a simple manner with each other, so as to form a basic framework, and with other elements of the same type so as to attach to the basic framework VB frameworks defining auxiliary volumes VA, the said elements comprising : L-shaped beams 30-31-32 the vertical element 300 of which is used as a lintel at the locations of the openings and the horizontal element 301 of which, which forms with the similar components other beams joined end to end to the upper peripheral tie of the construction, is used as a wall plate and as a support for the roof trusses F; and of columns 10 to 13 and 20 to 22 anchored at their base and forming the support for the beams and walls as well as the opening panels. <IMAGE>
