<p>PURPOSE:To keep the optimum contact of a tape and head, and minimize the fluctuation of reproducing output by controlling the tension giving to a recording medium according to the reproducing output transmitted from the recording medium. CONSTITUTION:The reproducing output transmitted from a recording medium 1 is detected by detecting means 2-4. The tension giving to the recording medium 1 is controlled according to the output of the detecting means 2-4 by a control means (microcomputer) 5. In this way the contact of a tape and head is made to be able to keep optimum and the variation in the reproducing output can be reduced. Also owing to the minimum tension corresponding to the projection amount of the head obtainable, the breakdown of the tape and sliding noises caused by the big projection amount in the past are reduced and the service life of the head can be extended as well by reducing the wear of the head due to the small tension.</p> |
