PURPOSE:To obtain a sound recording and reproducing device which is small- sized, light and has a sound memory function with a low battery replacing frequency by using a semiconductor memory in a memory medium and storing simultaneously the digital signal of a sound and a time signal. CONSTITUTION:For the memory element of a memory 1, the semiconductor of the capacity of 16kbit/sec is used at a digital system, and the semiconductor of the capacity of 2kbit/sec is used at an analog system, and the address of the memory 1 is determined by an address counter 8. A clock signal CL is synchronized to two converters as the sampling clock of a D/A converter 5 and simultaneously, the clock of the counter 8 and the data input/output of the memory 1 is controlled. An I/O port 10 controls of the sound recording, reproducing and retrieving with the signal of a keyboard 9, holds the output of a timing circuit and the hour and the time are informed to a display body 11.
