PURPOSE:To decrease the increase of residual potential and sensitivity change as a result of repetitive uses by constituting an under coating layer of a water soluble resin added with a conductive polymer. CONSTITUTION:The under coating layer 13 and photosensitive layer 15 are provided on a conductive base 11. The under coating layer 13 consists of the water soluble resin added with the conductive polymer. A polyacrylic acid, etc., are used for the conductive polymer and a water soluble polyvinyl acetal, etc., are used for the water soluble resin. The conductive polymer is adequately added at 1-40wt% to the water soluble resin and the film thickness of the under coating layer 13 is preferably 0.1-5mum. Said layer is formed by dissolving or diluting the water soluble resin and conductive polymer in a solvent to a suitable viscosity and coating the soln. on the base by a wire blade, air knife or dipping method. An electric charge generating layer 17 and charge transfer layer 19 are laminated to form the photosensitive layer 15. |
