<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate an error due to the nonuniformity of soil by providing a transmitting antenna which is directed to the ground with plural receiving antenna couples which are symmetrical and have prescribed angles, and amplifying reception outputs of the respective couples differentially and finding the mean of the sum. CONSTITUTION:The transmitting antenna 1 having a feed point in its center is excited by an oscillator 4 send a radio wave into the ground. Two receiving antenna couples 2-1 and 2-2 of receiving antennas 2a and 2b which are symmetrical about the transmitting antenna 1 and have prescribed angles theta are arranged. The outputs of the receiving antenna couples 2-1 and 2-2 are amplified 5-1 and 5-2 differentially and respectively and the outputs of both amplifiers 5-1 and 5-2 are inputted to a computing element 6 to find the mean of the sum, which is processed 7 and displayed on a display device 8. Consequently, the position of an underground buried body 3 is accurately detected without reference to the electromagnetic wave characteristics of soil.</p> |
