Visually displaying the precise time of the red-light or green-light phase is made possible by retrospective mounting of an electronic display panel at existing traffic light systems or by new traffic light housings with an integrated display panel. The electronic control is made in modular construction and can thus also be used for a plurality of different time phases (which occur daily) and can be adapted at any time by programming.
