PURPOSE:To prepare a make-up cosmetic naturally preventing chapped skin having excellent smoothing effect on skin surface and also having improved point make-up effects, containing musizin obtained as an extract of Rumex japonicus Houtt., a perennial polygonaceous plant. CONSTITUTION:A make-up cosmetic such as lipstick, lip treatment, etc., containing 0.001-1.0wt%, preferably 0.005-0.1wt% based on cosmetic of musizin, namely 2-acetyl-1,8-dihydroxy-3-methyl-naphthalene (e.g., one obtained by extracting dried root part of Rumex japonicus Houtt., with dichloromethane under heating to give crude crystal and recrystallizing the crystal with petroleum ether) shown by the formula as an essential component. The make-up cosmetic prevents cracks and maintains the skin young and fresh. |
