PURPOSE:To lubricate and cool an engine concurrently by providing an oil pan at the lower end of a lower unit and supplying the lubrication part and the oil cooled jacket of an engine with oil sucked via an oil pump driven with a drive shaft. CONSTITUTION:A lower oil pan 18 is provided at the lower end of a lower unit 11 and oil 25 is stored and cooled therein. The oil 25 is sucked by a lower oil pump 23 via a passage 27 and made to flow into an oil cooled jacket 34 via an upper oil pan 30 with an upper oil pump 24, thereby cooling an engine 10 and lubricating the inside thereof. Then, the oil 25 is temporarily stored in an intermediate oil pan 40 via a drain 35 and after cooled, returns to the lower oil pan 18 via a through-hole 37. The upper oil pan 30 also cools the exhaust passage 16 of the lower unit 11. As aforementioned, the oil 25 in the intermediate oil pan 40 and the lower oil pan 18 can be effectively cooled with sea water. Therefore, lubrication can be done concurrently with the cooling of the engine 10 and the effectiveness of cooling is enhanced. |
