PURPOSE:To accurately and rapidly measure an input signal, by analogously displaying the wave form of the input signal and digitally measuring the instantaneous value of the input signal to display the same. CONSTITUTION:The input signal applied to an input terminal 10 to be measured passes through a vertical preamplifier 14 and a vertical output amplifier 16 to drive the vertical circuit of a display apparatus 18 such as CRT. A trigger circuit 20 triggers a sweep generator 22 to input an output sweep signal to the horizontal circuit of the display apparatus 18 through an amplifier 24. By this method, the waveform of the input signal is analogously displayed. A sampling circuit 26 measures the instantaneous value of the input signal corresponding to the strobe pulse from a timing circuit 34. The sampling value from the sampling circuit 26 is digitally converted by an A/D converter 28 to be digitally displayed on the display apparatus 18 by a character generator 32.
