PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as a photographic coupler, especially magenta coupler, an intermediate thereof and an intermediate for organic synthesis simply and in high yield, by desulfurizing a triazolo[3,4-b]-thiadiazine compound. CONSTITUTION:A 1,2,4-triazolo[3,4-b]-1,3,5-thiadiazine compound shown by formula I (R<1> and R2 are H, alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or hetero ring; X1 and X2 are H or electron attractive group with the proviso that X1 and X2 are not H at the some time), for example, is desulfurized by dissolving the compound in a solvent (preferably hydrocarbons, alcohols or benzenes) to give the aimed compound shown by formula II.
