PURPOSE:To smoothly carry out adhesion and cohesion of each cocoon filament, by irradiating positions for separating the cocoon filaments from plural cocoons with infrared rays, collecting ends and producing the aimed raw silk. CONSTITUTION:A separation point of each cocoon filament 2 is irradiated with infrared rays, preferably far infrared rays from an infrared irradiator 8 to soften proteinaceous substances which are constituent substances of the cocoon filaments. Thereby the separation of the cocoon filaments from the surface of cocoons 1 is facilitated to carry out fusion and cohesion of other plural cocoon filaments irradiated with the infrared rays. The cocoon filaments 2... are then passed through an end feeding device 6 and introduced into a porcelain guide 12 and the end feeding device 6 is then rotated in this state to provide the aimed raw silk 3 having excellent elongation with reduced occurrence of neatness defects.
