PURPOSE:To provide a resin compsn. which gives molded products having excellent strength, appearance, etc., by blending a polyphenylene oxide resin, modified with a satd. aliph. polycarboxylic acid derivative in the presence of a radical generating agent, with a polyamide resin. CONSTITUTION:A polyphenylene oxide resin is modified with a satd. aliph. polycarboxylic acid (e.g., citric acid) and/or its derivative (e.g., N-dodecylamide of malic acid) in the presence of a radical generating agent (e.g., benzoin peroxide). 5-80pts.wt. modified polyphenylene oxide resin is mixed with 95-20pts.wt. polyamide resin to obtain the desired resin compsn. When not more than 20pts. wt. rubber-like material is added to 100pts.wt. of the combined amount of the polyphenylene oxide resin and the polyamide resin, the impact resistance of molded products can be further improved.
