PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a meandering and camber with a simple structure by fitting a sleeve regulating the width of a plate stock to both end parts of one part of a work roll. CONSTITUTION:A pair of upper and lower work rolls 1, 2 are arranged in opposition at the necessary roll gaps and a plate stock 3 is rolled by being press-fitted from one direction to this roll gap. The sleeve 4 stored in the upper and lower roll gaps is fixed by its fitting to both end parts of the lower side work roll 2 of the upper and lower rolls 1, 2 and the space between the right and left sleeves 4, 4 is made so as to pass the plate stock 3. The sleeve 4 may be fitted to the other part of the roll 1 and fitted to both rolls 1, 2 in the shape of opposing upper and lower. When the plate stock 3 is passed through the work rolls 1, 2, the plate stock 3 is restrained by being pinched by the sleeve 4 respectively, not moved in the width direction and no meandering nor camber is caused.
