PURPOSE:To perform perfecting printing by a simple control without requiring complicated work, by reversing the front and back surfaces of paper by a paper feed mechanism before discharging the paper after perfecting printing to the outside and again feeding said paper to a printing mechanism. CONSTITUTION:The paper P taken out on the side of a paper guide 34 from a paper cassette is fed to paper feed rollers 21, 22 and the leading head of the paper P passes between rollers 31, 32 to perform paper feed in the right direction until the first line is positioned directly under a printing head 17. The printing head 17 is driven in this state and the printing of one line is performed on the paper P through an ink ribbon 19. One line printing processing is repeated and, when the printing of the final line is finished, the paper feed in the right direction is performed unit the rear end of the paper P reaches the rollers 31, 32 on this side and the paper feed rollers 31, 32 are subsequently reversed to feed the paper P to the paper feed rollers 21, 22 through a passage 38. The printing of the second page is applied to the rear surface of the paper in the same way as the printing of the first page. Therefore, perfecting printing can be performed without requiring complicated manual work.
