<p>PURPOSE:To heat billets to a uniform temp. condition by inserting and disposing the billets into hollow parts of plural pieces of coils which are linearly juxtaposed, moving the coils back and forth in an axial line direction and passing AC to the respective coils. CONSTITUTION:Plural pieces of the coils A-C are linearly juxtaposed and 1 - several pieces of the billets 1 - are inserted and are disposed in this state into the hollow parts of the coils. The AC is then passed between the respective ends (a), (a)-(c), (c) of the coils A-C to generate alternating magnetic fields. Induction current is thereby generated in the billets 1 to heat the same. The above-mentioned billets 1 are moved back and forth in the axial line direction of the coils A-C as shown by an arrow via a piston rod 2 by driving of a hydraulic cylinder 3. The entire part of the billets 1 is thereby heat-treated to the uniform temp. state even if the valleys of the magnetic fields are generated at the boundary parts 5 between the coils A-C. The generation of the defects and dispersion in the quality of the final products is thus prevented.</p> |
